Yarvin’s misunderstanding of monarchy – describing corporate executives as effective monarchs – is a pretty good example of the problem with the caste system as presently conceived by our junkie betters.
Among pretenders such as Yarvin there seems to be a an inadequate ability to distinguish between meta competition and competition – between constructing incentives and striving for those incentives. It certainly makes a lot of sense for there to be singular individuals in whom resides ultimate responsibility for competition between group entities aka war however sublimated (Hobbesian Leviathan as a company).
However, when people like that think executing on incentives is the role of the ultimate sovereign, whose job it is to create the incentives, they end up thinking that those who are qualified to to design incentives should be their subjects. Moreover, they are more than happy to use the executive power they acquire in said subjugation.
What I’m trying to do with things like Militia.Money or other related notions of individual sovereignty as prior to guys like Yarvin – who have their place in the caste systems required by group organisms – is unify the flesh blood and bone of human values with the origin of incentives served by guys like Yarvin and his “monarchs”.
The difference is all important as we increasingly witness with collapsing Total Fertility Rates throughout the world.
This gets back to KMac’s idea of the Yamnaya’s pre-history market-based individualism in the comitatus which had to compete for the best of the warriors – warriors who were free to change allegiances because war was not perpetual as it tends to be in more settled societies.
The company is, in this respect, like a comitatus temporarily organized as a raiding party – but support of individuality absolutely depends on not centralizing all power in an individual indefinitely as though one has no option but to be in a state of perpetual war. People need sufficient material independence to recover their individuality lest the whole of humanity collapse into a black hole. It is only in such a state of peace that sexuality in its fertile form can express as it has for 600M years since the Cambrian explosion’s advent of individual masculine aggression.
I’m really concerned that guys like Yarvin have had far more influence on guys like Trump and Musk than we might have been led to believe.
The AEI is criminally negligent in not fulfilling its roll as occupier of the niche for conservative analysis of the population decline as evidenced by its leading demographer’s abdication of responsibility to “literature” because “sociology can only take you so far” while they carefully avoid any mention of evolutionary psychology.
He LAUGHINGLY addresses the issue of women’s preferences for number of children as utterly inscrutable when it is obvious that there are mass evolutionary psychological dynamics directly involved in baby booms – no the least of which is the post-WW II baby boom.
Will someone please nuke the AEI?
PS: I have to admit I am harboring a grudge against the AEI because when I approached one of their number with Hume’s Guillotine to nuke the social pseudosciences (which would have allowed them to continue to ignore the third rail of evolutionary psychology while still nuking the social pseudosciences) I was told to be satisfied with being allowed to vote.
This, he told, to someone who sacrificed a marriage and family to privatize space launch services in a grassroots political coalition:
My bloodline is a casualty of the war that AEI should have been fighting, but laughingly avoids.
PPS: He does mention “sociobiology” but only to present a strawman – a classic tactic of the social pseudoscientist in addressing any mention of heritable predispositions having sociological consequences.
Durant associates this trend with the diminishing size of male estates. The men turned to homosexuality as a way to limit the number of heirs to their property.
Read “The Evolution of Eusociality” by Nowak, E.O. Wilson et al for the implied explanation* of why Northern European cultures tended lag in adoption of primogeniture.
It boils down to the necessity of adolescent rebellion in maintaining a culture of individuality.
The trick to maintaining individuality with primogeniture is instituting an obligation by the firstborn son to care for his parents Even as they give up ownership of the estate prior to death. Indeed this transfer must occur as a substitute for adolescent rebellion.
The Boomer Bad meme is an exploitation of the failure of Western societies to institute such transfers. For example my grandfather should have transferred ownership of the land to my father upon return from World War II when my father won the national clean plowing championship two years running. Instead my father became an IRS agent.
The southern European adoption of primogeniture is evidence of more functional adaptation to prohibition of single combat as the appeal of last resort in dispute processing since such combat between a first born son and his father might reasonably have been the way land transfers occurred in the Pleistocene where “land” was hunting territory.
This, of course, presents a problem when the first born is dysfunctional, as tragically portrayed in “The Godfather”.
PS: I really wish I could put down our Bad Zookeepers but they’ve specialized in grabbing power while I have specialized in understanding how to care for humans.
Also, (Wikipedia), The fertility rate among Japanese women was around 1.4 children per woman from 2010 to 2018. From then until 2022, the fertility rate further declined to 1.2. Apart from a small baby boom in the early 1970s, the crude birth rate in Japan has been declining since 1950; it reached its currently lowest point of 5.8 births per thousand people in 2023. With a falling birth rate and a large share of its inhabitants reaching old age, Japan’s total population is expected to continue declining, a trend that has been seen since 2010.
It’s the society. (also government)
Read and think about what Wikipedia has to say on the mater. (Demographics_of_South_Korea)
“The 1973 Maternal and Child Health Law legalized abortion. In 1983 the government began suspending medical insurance benefits for maternal care for pregnant women with three or more children. It also denied tax deductions for education expenses to parents with two or more children.”
and
" The government encouraged married couples to have only one child. This has been a prominent theme in public service advertising, which stresses “have a single child and raise it well.”
Back to the voting thing. It has some merit, but I would expand the voting thing along other avenues such as being a teacher, or an occupation that can be “tapped” for the betterment of society. Conversely, convicted criminals would loose the right to vote.
As to age, let’s expand it to have an age limit for elected officials, call it the “Biden Law” that would mandate a mandatory age limit for all public officials of 65 or so, Irregardless of their cognitive ability.
In rural agricultural/pastoral societies, ultimogeniture was the norm. Thats why the youngest child is always the protagonist in folk and fairy tales. Also see Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and Benjamin, David. Cuz, if you were a pastoralist and you had a son when you were 17 or 18, you’d still be hale and hardy by the time he was 17-18. Your firstborn wouldn’t take over your operation, he’d go out on his own, with a gift of some of your stock as his patrimony. It was the child of your age, “your Benjamin” as we still say, who would be there to care for you in your old age and take over when you die.
Right, so why give up control? (Especially if you descended from a long line of father killers stretching back into the Pleistocene and the young buck was getting obnoxious!)
The answer, of course, is that in a land-limited situation (the usual situation) by deliberately stepping aside in an advisory capacity early, you ensure your bloodline reproduces early and well. If you pull that off, the rest is gravy.
The main reason it’s insane for a civilized population to delay the onset of parenthood isn’t just “mothers eggs”… it’s because civilization is a de facto womb war where minimizing the population doubling time is a winning strategy. Civilization being a kind of eusocial organism, war is a fact of life and the only way you can get out of the land-limited situation is taking land by kings pointing their women like cannons at other kings to shoot out baby ordnance.
I suppose I should also reiterate that the one State-level demographic variable that best predicted all the others of hundreds I screen-scraped back in the early '00s was Mother’s Age At First Live Birth.
Rather a tautology that, of course. What is interesting is the role of human agency in evolution. Some like to say there is no such thing as human agency aka free will. Others make a distinction that seems to me without a difference between human agency and free will. It’s all rather like the debate over “Intelligence” and “Consciousness”: People talking past each other to get their particular word sense to dominate for whatever agenda they are pushing. The “philosophical zombie” approach to justifying “no free will” is self-negating in the limit of solipsism.
Yes, my point is not to lose one’s breath trying to change a very large system – but instead to think smaller and form communities, or effective memesets that lead to changes in perspective in a broader public. Memeset is a collection of ideas that reframe a situation.
The old saying “Everyone talks about the weather but no one does anything about it.” applies to localization. In my experience, the top-down trickle of The Worse Resource Curse aka The World Reserve Currency, creates a climate of centralization. “Preppers” give up on their local business and government authorities – who are bought off – and just try to stock up on rice, beans, ammo and too many guns. A decade ago I approached my county business and government authorities with countycurrency.org and received only passive resistance. Last month when I so much as tried to ask if anyone in my little village would like to just talk about preparation, I was unanimously ridiculed – the moderator of the FB group for “neighborhood watch” being apparently among those bought off.
Bitcoin is great in that it has put capital into the hands of the right kinds of people but it isn’t going to save us from the WRC trickledown. Maybe some BTC whales will be able to set up secluded communities.
The rest of us?
We can eat shit.
Maybe Lutnik (Trump’s transition team head) thinks the best we can do is make BTC whales bigger.
There are worse strategies but it’s pretty clear Lutnik isn’t prepared to consider policies that would distribute capital for community formation to working class whites in place of “the vote”: militia.money
The travesty Arthur Jenson makes of Militia.Money with “everyone a stockholder” is the prototype of the World Economic Forum’s travesty most widely portrayed in the “You will own nothing and be happy,” allusion to a UBI just large enough to keep conscientious people “entertained” into sterile old age.
This is the fallback travesty from Militia.Money I’ve been expecting quite literally ever since I originally proposed replacing government with something like Militia.Money in response to the execrable capital market failures that became utterly obvious to me in the wake of the Launch Services Purchase Act of 1990, and I decided that was a hill I was willing to die on, stepping on the minefield labeled “Jew” while trying to get to the bottom of what was going on, and have my career terminated as a result.
Smelling the stench of the tens of millions of fetuses of the potential grandchildren of WW II veterans rotting in the dumpsters – aborted for financial reasons, while The Greatest Generation retired in style with all their WW II movies – was just too much to bear.
