For those of you who have read Douglas Adams’ Starship Titanic, it feels like Boeing and Spirit have employed the Amalgamated Unmarried Teenage Mothers Construction Union.
NTSB Alaska Airlines flight 1282 preliminary report:
That was in WA. This is in OR:
This is a securities class action:

Not 737, but 777 this time. Still Boeing, so it is somewhat related:
The plane that malfunctioned was a Boeing 777, which is designed to descend safely even with missing or damaged landing gear, United Airlines said in a statement. The plane carried 235 passengers, 10 flight attendants and four pilots — but no injuries were reported by the airline.
@smagor This is your fault.
737 to 777: “Hold my beer!”
Seems like these recent problems are a United Airlines maintenance issue rather than a Boeing manufacturing issue.
However, there are stories that a lot of aircraft maintenance has been offshored to various places – just like a lot of the manufacturing in the first place. Taking the Low Bid has probably caused more problems in more industries than we will ever know.
Boeing guy didn’t kill himself.
“Boeing whistleblower John Barnett found dead in hotel parking lot in Charleston, SC from ‘alleged self-inflicted’ gunshot wound.”
Alas, unavailable here.
He retired first then became a whistleblower. The best whistleblower doesn’t worry about losing his job.
His attorneys and friends are not buying suicide.
Nor should anyone. It’s funny as a three-dollar bill.
Incidents vs attention paid to incidents:
Some incidents are more equal than others.
What? Don’t tell me – the criminal in this case is the Federal Government which has totally failed in its duty to ensure the safety of air transportation? Wake the “president” up and impeach him! There must be accountability from the top!
