Families of those killed in the crashes attended Tuesdayâs hearing in Congress and held up photographs of loved ones.
Politicians are disgusting creatures.
As are lawyers!
Imposing a multi-billion dollar fine on Boeing will not fix the problems with that essential industrial entity. All the fine and the court cases will do is drain money & focus from sorting the very serious problems within Boeing while most of any fine ends up diverted into the pockets of lawyers and their bought-and-paid-for politicians.
Meanwhile, back in the real world, China & Russia continue the development of their own commercial airplanes which are destined to take much of the future market, while Airbus slowly moves from Europe to China. Even if the West manages to avoid war, it faces impoverishment.
This appears to be the (barely-) unstated goal, No?
NTSB statement:
https://www.ntsb.gov/news/press-releases/Pages/NR20240627.aspx
âDuring a media briefing Tuesday about quality improvements ⌠a Boeing executive provided investigative information and gave an analysis of factual information previously released. Both of these actions are prohibited,â the NTSB said.
It seems odd that the government will not let you comment on a fact that was released or provide information. The way that is stated makes it seem like a childish position. Only we are allowed to comment.
I understand that during an investigation that you donât want speculation. It would seem the best way to do this is for neither Boeing nor the NTSB to release any information until the investigation is completed.
The board released a preliminary report in February that said it had found the bolts were missing when it left the Boeing factory, but it did not assess blame. A final report is not expected for a year or more from now.
Is this acceptable to the public? If nobody can comment on the investigation and the investigation takes this long, do we assume that the planes are safe or unsafe?
This is the other type of divide et impera (divide and conquer): Divide (Boeing) and conquer (the moron-peons err regulators).

~ Boeing
You could save BoeingâŚbut youâd have to fire all the MacDac executives/managers and everyone they hired. And possibly everyone those people hired, just to be sure.
I would fire everyone Jim McNerney hired or promoted and everyone they hired are promoted.
His legacy is still a problem at 3M which he blew up 20 years ago. Jack Welsch must have been a sucker for empty suits with power point skill.
A forecast from aviation consultancy Cirium in May sees just under 1,700 C919 deliveries by 2042, giving the C919 around a 25% market share compared to Boeingâs 30% and Airbusâs 45%.
