Along with various family members, I’ve been watching the Prime Video series, Clarkson’s Farm. At one level, it is quite entertaining. Jeremy Clarkson, the protagonist, owns and runs a 1000 acre farm on Oxfordshire, UK. I knew nothing about him before coming across these videos. Apparently, he was a very successful TV show host - of numerous very successful shows, for many years. Featured in this three season series are his eclectic efforts to make various aspects of farming profitable. Many are doomed and others become losers through error and ineptitude of the host and his often charming minions.

There are some potent subtexts, however. Most prominent is the near impossibility of small/family farms operating profitably. The series makes painfully clear the struggle of virtually all the farmers in the area, and indeed, all England. The other, causative subtext is the in-your-face-tyrannical regulatory state of the UK. Virtually NO activity may take place on a private farm without prior permission (after filing the requisite endless forms) from among the at least hundreds (if not thousands) of regulatory agencies. One example: the farm is, by statute, located in an “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty” (AONB), which gives “regulators” (think power-crazed locals) carte Blanche to make up rules by fiat at any time. It is mind-boggling, jaw-dropping, gasp inducing - over and over again. I’ll sum it up by observing that killing a (protected, but in no real danger extinction) badger carries a 1+ year prison sentence and 12,000 pound fine. These charming critters dangerously undermine the ground with tunnels, terrorize chickens and infect cows with tuberculosis. The government’s concern for their sometimes lethal effects on an entire farm - is nil.

This adds up to a commentary on the present state and likely trajectory of the UK. Law abiding citizens - especially farmers - are being regulated to extinction by the ubiquitous “regulatory police”. At the same time, the taxpayers (these same farmers and all others) are greatly subsidizing large numbers of hostile “asylum seekers”, substantial numbers of which commit violent offenses against their hosts. The icing on the foecal cake is that the actual police seem indifferent to violent criminals. Mainly, and with great enthusiasm, they prosecute “offensive” social media posts (or silent prayer 100 yards from an abortion facility) - like any pointing out the truth as to what is happening to the actual law-abiding native British population. The subtext, then, if one watches this show and takes news of actual events in the UK as backdrop, makes it clear one is witnessing the rapid unwinding of the civilization which gave the world the Common Law and all that used to imply. Sad. Lamentable. Disgusting, actually, because their elites are well aware they are doing it.

In my own mind, I’m pronouncing “UK” as “ yuck”.

Hey, no surprise! You never really did really own land in our toxic parent’s territory. You held the Sovereign’s land, at the pleasure of the Sovereign. Plus ça change, as they say.

Something we are not supposed to notice – or if we do notice, we are supposed to suppress the thought – is that especially in the UK the key person in many of these civilization-destroying acts is female. The government minister, the police chief, the chair of the town council, etc.

Some might draw the conclusion that the problem is women in charge. But more accurately the problem is those women in charge. What we are seeing throughout the West, and especially in England, is the wages of DIE. Incompetents have been promoted far beyond what they should have been strictly because of their gender.

As we all know, there are many incompetent males in charge of important activities, but the proportion of incompetent senior females is clearly higher. There is an irony here – the initial valid idea of Affirmative Action was to make sure that competent people from racial minorities were not passed over simply because of their skin color. However, as that worthwhile idea mutated in the political sphere, the overwhelming beneficiaries of DIE have been white females, particularly white middle class or upper middle class females – the “Daughters of Privilege”. Now society as a whole is paying the price.

I don’t see any way of fixing this, short of the inevitable Coming Collapse.

But upon further research that text or caption is false. In reality; Three horses try to hide from the rain under an oversized table and chair in a pasture near Doellstaedt, eastern Germany. The huge garden furniture was installed by a local wood merchant to promote his products.

What brief knowledge I have of the regulations in the UK by exposure to YouTube videos and the comments made by the narrators in them, it very well could have been in the UK.

Unless, that is our “sovereign” (“of the people…” LOL) decides it wants your property or it wants to transfer title to another private owner (Kelo case) who will pay more taxes on it (or is simply politically preferable to the present owner). There are now so many examples of corruption of the original, fundamental principles of the Founding that the nation is barely recognizable.

Tru dat—and the “wealth tax” is the latest. That is no more nor less than the confiscation of private property. Sic transit Gloria mundi…..
