# Could Ultra-High-Energy Cosmic Rays Be Alien Technosignatures?

Here is my January, 1994 article about the [Fly’s Eye](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Resolution_Fly%27s_Eye_Cosmic_Ray_Detector) detection of a particle with an energy of 3.2\times 10^{20} electron volts, which gave the phenomenon the name now commonly used in popular discussions of [ultra-high-energy cosmic rays](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra-high-energy_cosmic_ray), “[The Oh-My-God Particle](https://www.fourmilab.ch/documents/OhMyGodParticle/)”.
