Maybe LA could get a horse for a consul, er, mayor.

Don’t vote for the person. Vote for the policy. Compare my policies on homelessness to theirs:
PRATT:
-Mandatory drug treatment
-Send home addicts who were bussed in from out of state
-Enforce the lawBASS & RAMAN
-Put addicts in overpriced housing and let them do drugs next to your kids’ school
-Give methheads free pipes
-Make YOU pay for new teeth for said methheadsHow is this even a race?
That sentiment looks good on paper or pixels but if the person is a clown, can he really implement policy? If the policy prescriptions don’t come from well-thought-out principles, how do we know he won’t change his mind or be talked out of them? The political machine will just run over this lightweight. Afterwards, the Left will plausibly claim that these right-wing nutjobs can only ruin LA or California, to which I’d respond “too late.”
Looking at Pratt’s policy list, my presumption is that he has no power to implement these on his own. City ordinances, the city budget, and mayoral appointments require city council approval. All but one of the current council members are Democrats, several have Star Wars names, and at least four are members of the Democratic Socialists of America. Only 8 of 15 of the council members are up for election and I’m guessing almost all, if not all, the newly- or re-elected will be leftist kooks.
Changing one guy isn’t gonna do much. Policy talk is cheap.
His biggest priorities are enforcing existing laws, hiring more police and eradicating the homeless industrial money laundering syndicate.
He will have at least one ally at city council, Traci Park who is seeking reelection and represents most of the west side including my neighborhood and Pacific Palisades.
He is running a smart campaign. On Saturday he had a meet and greet in Sherman Oaks. Instead of a stump speech he literally met and spoke to everyone who showed up. He listened mostly. He did the same thing today in South Los Angeles near Inglewood. He is resonating with voters in person and on social media.
Grok:
- Spencer Pratt, running for Los Angeles mayor in 2026, posted the opening lyrics of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song paired with a 72-second parody video.
- The video shows Pratt in a beige suit posing by a “No More BS Spencer Pratt 4 Mayor” sign, an RV towed through upscale estate gates, and aerial shots mimicking the show’s Bel-Air mansion arrival.
- The humorous campaign ad flips potential attacks into a viral “banger,” drawing millions of views and strong positive engagement from supporters.
For the sake of everyone who’s currently stuck living under the evil and inept regime, I hope this guy can improve the situation. Nevertheless, the problems in California are fundamental and widespread that replacing one or a few officials isn’t going to do much.
California has evolved into a low-trust society and that affects every level of social interaction, from the person-to-person to the state government. While it’s always wise to be mistrustful of government, there’s a difference between having a general skepticism of government versus being convinced your government hates you and wants you dead. California in general and LA in particular have a deep hole to climb out of.
Los Angeles city council hates us especially Raman who lives in silver lake which has become a trendy part of the city. I am skeptical
Grok:
- Greg Gutfeld calls a Spencer Pratt campaign ad the “best ad ever,” quoting one promoting the reality TV star’s LA bid with the tagline “You Are Not Alone.”
- The ad depicts LA men drinking beer and complaining about needles in playgrounds, downtown decay resembling The Walking Dead, and other city failures, each time prefacing with “I’m not MAGA or anything.”
- It cleverly illustrates social pressure in liberal LA by showing hidden support for Pratt’s ideas, ending with the men and their wives secretly backing him to encourage reluctant voters.
Right now I am looking for band aid solutions because that is the best I can hope for. Maybe cosmetic and plastic surgery if Spencer wins and is more competent than we think.
Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt raised nearly 10 times more in contributions than Mayor Karen Bass in the latest campaign finance reporting period, new statements show.
Pratt reported raising $2.72 million between April 19 and May 16, the statements show, compared with $283,000 for Bass.
Pratt, the former reality TV star, reported a total of $3.26 million in contributions, edging him ahead of Bass with $3.13 million.
Councilmember Nithya Raman reported a total of more than $931,000 through the May 16 filing period, and nearly $401,000 since April 19. Of that haul, $60,000 came in the form of a loan from Raman to her campaign.
The chicks in that ad are hilarious. “I wish I could vote for Spencer Pratt, like, yesterday.”
Godspeed, Mr. Pratt.
