He suggests the PRC is using AI to real-time mine social media and public sources to track aircraft including stealth aircraft.

AI can be used to track aircraft and also can be used to create disinformation. As with everything else, there will be an arms race. It’s not necessary to shut down the internet to address this problem, as the video suggests (“stopping civilization”). Dumping some fake videos on Facebook or ordering a bunch of pizzas from Dominos near the Pentagon is hardly going to bring civilization to a grinding stop.

With respect to the B2 case in particular, there was tracking of the aircraft after the mission was concluded but not before. Presumably, there’s more care for OPSEC before than there is after.

On the F-117 stealth fighter development. It has (late in the video, after 50 min mark) a good description of the shootdown over Serbia. It is instructive to compare with recent events.

“… it has received a follow-on U.S. Army award, valued at approximately $10.7 million …”

Given that we are hearing about drones all the time, this seems a surprisingly small amount by usual military standards. Imagine how many different anti-drone technologies could be funded at this scale for the cost of – say – one F35.

And if the fire control system can enable the average soldier to use a rifle to knock down a drone, why is the same technology not being applied to much longer-range weapons like anti-aircraft guns? Just wondering!

“Stick and a Banana”

Veteran F-14 Tomcat pilot, Tom “D-Day” Lucas, wrote this pop country song titled “Stick and a Banana” as a tribute to radar intercept officers. As D-Day put it, “RIOs were the guys building the picture, calling the fight, running the radar, and occasionally guiding the new pilots around like a chimp chasing a banana on a stick. Built from real ready-room humor, Tomcat culture, and life in the F-14.”

Missed a trick, he should have had the mech kneel so he could climb in without clambering up the side.

The American company Dzyne has introduced the BlitzBox system, a container for covertly launching a swarm of attack drones. On the outside, it looks like an ordinary cargo box, but inside, it can hold up to 100 Blitz drones, ready to launch in minutes.#DroneWars #UAS #UAV pic.twitter.com/w9aRaZYrCZ

A-10 gets a refuelling probe adapter and an EW pod:

Great news, though I’m a little surprised that it hasn’t happened years ago. All US forces other than the USAF use probe and drogue refueling (for good reasons) and adding this interoperability increases tactical flexibility.

If I was a congresscritter/SecWar, I’d consider forcing an update to the Key West Agreement. Too much has changed and I think it has been shown the USAF has had to be forced to fully live up to their tactical support obligations.

..makes you feel that the USAF thinks its main enemy is the US Army, primarily and the rest of DoW, and its main mission is to hog as much of the DoW’s budget as possible. The USAF thinks there’s no need for the rest of DoW. They believe that the USAF can win all wars by itself. Despite Joint Combatant Commands. The USAF once tried to own all drones, restricts Army Aviation to just helos. Even in combat, they want 72 hours’ notice for the Air Tasking Order. This is why, aside from the A-10 community, the Army just relies on its own helos and drones. (Rant by a retired Combat Arms Army SNCO w/ JTAC and Joint Fires). Don’t get me wrong, when the USAF shows up, it’s not a good day for the bad guys. As a ground pounder, you just hope no enemy aircraft shows up because once the Zoomies hear there’s an aircraft contact, kiss your air support goodbye as everything faster than an A-10 ( w/c is everything including AC-130) is on that action. Oh, AC-130 doesn’t do CAS in daylight, no matter if there’s no ADA or air threat.

Armed conflicts hit worldwide post-WWII record – report — RT World News

"The number of armed conflicts underway around the globe reached its highest level since World War II in 2025, according to a study published on Tuesday by the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO).

Researchers found there were 65 state-based conflicts – involving at least one government actor – the highest number since systematic records began in 1946. The report estimates that about 245,000 people were killed in battle-related violence last year, making it one of the deadliest years in recent decades. …

The number of interstate conflicts doubled from the previous year to a record eight in 2025, including clashes between India and Pakistan …

PRIO said the 65 conflicts recorded were spread across 35 countries …"

As Trotsky reportedly said (in Russian) – you may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you.
