Ahhh, the glory days of [UUCP](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UUCP) store and forward addresses. I was `{sun,decwrl,uunet}!acad!kelvin` back then. This was routing through three well-connected hosts to which we connected via dial-up. The actual path for a given message may have been much longer. My Sun server dialed into the Autodesk host, [Megalon](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megalon), (external name “acad”) every hour to pick up mail. It was a local call, and not billed.
