SpaceX Starship-Super Heavy Fourteenth Flight Test

This topic discusses the forthcoming SpaceX fourteenth flight test of the integrated Starship (#41) and Super Heavy booster (#21), currently scheduled for launch no earlier than 2026-09-28 12:15 UTC with a 75 minute launch window. This is the thirdd Block 3 flight and the first to deploy live Starlink V3 satellites for regular use:

The upcoming flight is planned to be the first to send Starship into orbit around Earth. Flight tests until this point have intentionally flown passively safe suborbital trajectories to maximize public safety while allowing for maximum learning. By going to orbit, the next phase of developing Starship to be fully and rapidly reusable can begin.

This will also mark the first time we plan to deploy Starlink V3 satellites into the constellation, delivering a payload that will dramatically expand connectivity speeds and reliability around the world.(SpaceX)

Starship’s initial orbital mission is expected to fly at an altitude approximately 275 km above Earth and complete approximately six orbits around the planet over the course of a nearly 10-hour flight, with splashdown targeted in the Pacific Ocean to the west of Chile.

My repeated (several launches and definitely the catches) tears caused by these magnificent achievements of Starship are a source of great inspiration and hope. Sadly, those with the power and means of shaping the ethos of the times, have excelled at demoting our former (and preventing present) heroes. Verboten! In the same vein, what might have formerly been inspiring human achievements - like many of Elon Musk’s accomplishments, especially Starship - are demoted and/or defaced in real time by those intent on nihilism and destruction of the morale of Western Civilization.

The so-called educational system has assiduously defamed and corrupted most all the actual progress which occurred following the Enlightenment, even while calling themselves “progressives”! The doctrine they teach blithely assumes that the extant benefits of our civilization are merely the natural state of things; that it is a safe baseline from which we may stray according to the revealed “wisdom” of these who speak the loudest and coerce (or destroy) infidels and apostates. Our freedoms and unprecedented material plenty are automatic, they say, yet all must be “fundamentally transformed”.

The truth is that (notwithstanding the absurdity of the “1619 Project”, centuries of analysis, critical thinking, discussions, negotiations and even warfare - brought forth momentous acts of progress, by affording ordinary persons a shot at self-governance and moral agency. These achievements, unprecedented in human history, were so very costly in blood and treasure. Thus, while obviously aiming to “fundamentally transform” - to “progress”us to a future of tribal and/or feudal governance - these power-crazed groups and individuals have set individuals and groups at war with each other. Had we anything resembling an impartial media, this juggernaut could have never gotten off the ground.

Speaking of lifting off the ground, The Starship project, rather than division and power, is aimed at survival of the human species. The usual (let’s call them what they are) evil, power-mad, psycho- and sociopathic suspects respond as we’ve come to expect: Musk is the evil one, whose money should be confiscated. Spacefaring should cease, and they resources given away to those in “need”. What can I say, without re-writing Atlas Shrugged.

The fact is that Starship is a pinnacle of what human can achieve when they work together voluntarily collaboratively in service of our (and especially our descendants’) shared future. As a child, I learned that the cathedrals of Europe took centuries to build. Those who laid the foundations knew they wouldn’t live nearly long enough to see the completed structure. Musk and Starship may just represent the continued flourishing of that same human virtue. I only wish I might somehow see if that is so. We have, after all, been continuously regaled (shouted at, really) by our betters, with the view that all is awful. Private efforts is tainted; only the state is omniscient and beneficent. Evidence to the contrary (to the extent not covered up) BE DAMNED (are we??)
