Third Time’s a Charm

After the attempt on his life at the White House Correspondents’ dinner last night, I want Trump to blame it squarely on the Left.

Remember the Congressional baseball game shooting, June 2017? I didn’t think so…anyway, I felt we had missed a chance when Schumer came out and said, “The President said EXACTLY the right thing.” Meaning, he refused to assign blame.
And he did it again last night.

I understand why, of course, but…what are we afraid of? The Left is obviously already in a murderous rage. How much worse could things get?

The assassin is a 30ish black guy from California who was recently named “Teacher of the Month” by his public school employers. Oh we could check SO many boxes! Why the fuck DON’T we?

Let me play lawyer for a moment. Do we know that the California teacher (i.e. a Far Left extremist) was really targeting President Trump? Maybe he was angry at the Rightist Deviationist tendencies of the NYT and was aiming to eliminate some of the NYT journalists?

Riiight…if only we had some evidence, other than the fact that he said he wanted to kill Trump and/or members of his administration . We’ll have to wait and see. We may never know the motive. Thank you for recalling me to the proper non-judgmental perspective.

If anyone has missed it, check out “Coffee & Covid” initial take on the third attempt to kill President Trump:

"Combine those three stories, and our N=3 dataset starts to look a lot less like three independent miracles of bad fortune and a lot more like a system that keeps failing in eerily specific ways.

One rooftop that was covered and then mysteriously uncovered. One would‑be sniper who spends hours inside the outer perimeter without any sweep pushing him out. One gunman who manages to pick the exact right moment when a half‑dozen security professionals aren’t physically in his way at a choke point designed precisely so that someone should always be in the way. …"

"… Did these shooters get help —active or passive— from people inside who know how the system really works? Remember the Ian Fleming chestnut: once is coincidence. Twice is happenstance. Three times is enemy action."

This “lone wolf” acted at just about the same time that CNN’s SE Cupp told her audience (all six of them) that Trump “wants us dead”. Once again, what are still bizarrely referred to as journalists, somehow just don’t notice or refuse to report the obvious fact that the democrats’ voices have become increasingly inciting of violence for about the past two decades. I can’t recall with which Republican President it became fashionable to joke about or just plain plead for his assassination? According to the MSM, this was just fine. You know, the same MSM which kept telling us Biden was “sharp as a tack”. Maybe they were thinking of how sharp a tacking sailboat turns?

Maybe I should have added a /sarc tag, or a smiley face?

No, hee hee, I figgered it was sarcasm, as was my comment. Seriously, though, since then I’ve heard that the perp stayed his motives to the agents before he was Mirandized. So…

Well, belay the above. This shooter’s entire “manifesto” has been published. Already?!?! Yeah, and a cheery little missive it is. It begins, “Hello everybody!” He evidently wrote it before arriving in DC, and then theres a coda about the lack of security, and how it apparently never occurred to the SS that people staying at the hotel, already checked in, might be a threat.

Here’s what I think about this bozo now: he’s a Luigi Mangione copycat.

The assassin was not a public school teacher. It’s best to get one’s facts straight. His employer was identified within hours of the shooting. As it happens, I worked within a couple of miles of his workplace, which was in a strip mall at the corner of Hawthorne and Torrance Blvds.

Great, so he was an itinerant indoctrinator. I also just read that he’s gay, y’wanna set us straight :grin:on that rumor?

No idea about that but it would be on-brand if so. Even better if he were a tranny.

Me too, from the mid 70s until the mid 90s. I lived remotely most of those years, with frequent visits to Torrance until the company folded in '95, and haven’t been back since
