Twitter, Elon Musk, and 𝕏

Maybe my memory is incorrect. I thought Al Gore was caught being the bag man for Chinese money. Before everyone was taking Chinese money or sleeping with a spy.

Maybe I have the wrong country.

They have no choice but go down this path if they are to salvage anything.

In the meantime, Elon is stoking the fire

This is a notable and chilling modern example of how memes are created and advanced by our betters in tech and state. Since I became aware of the current prevalence and power of propaganda in the ‘liberal’ West, I have developed a jaundiced eye as to many memes taken for granted since at least the end of WWII. More likely, a propaganda inflection occurred with the beginning of the progressive era in the early 20th century, though; things like creation of the Federal Reserve.

In 1928, Edward Bernays’ book Propaganda was published. To be fair to Bernays, a lot of this was known well before then, but in the modern era it could be carried out by professionals with access to major resources.

If the Chinese people don’t like their lockdowns, presumably they will do something about it. But one can’t help feeling that the CCP has got it wrong in using all that expensive surveillance & monitoring. Just look at how we do it in the “free” US!

The US dumbed down the education system and co-opted all the media. In my Covid-free area, we still have zombies walking around with cloths over their faces, and particular businesses demanding mask-wearing as the price of entry. The CCP should abandon its excellent educational system and go for the uneducated dumb compliant population model – much cheaper than monitoring.

I believe they value winning above dull compliance by the population. To win, their main asset is a population which, when raised in an urban environment and well fed, consistently tests around IQ 105. This, combined with world-class education and suppression of deviance and corruption (for example, by exporting all of the fentanyl to the decadent West rather than allow it in the domestic market and social credit scores used to keep borderline people in line), will allow them to reach the goal of commercial hegemony over most of the world. There’s no need for an old-style empire where you rule the wogs as long as you collect a cut on every transaction done around the globe.

Bloomberg reports, “Musk Sells $6.9 Billion of Tesla to Avoid Twitter Fire Sale”.

Elon Musk offloaded $6.9 billion worth of stock in Tesla Inc., saying he wanted to avoid a sudden sale in the event he’s forced to go ahead with his deal to acquire Twitter Inc.

Tesla’s chief executive officer sold about 7.92 million shares on Aug. 5, according to regulatory filings released after US markets closed Tuesday. Musk tweeted that he was done selling and would buy shares in the electric-car maker if the Twitter deal doesn’t close.

“In the (hopefully unlikely) event that Twitter forces this deal to close and some equity partners don’t come through, it is important to avoid an emergency sale of Tesla stock,” Musk wrote.

Musk has now dumped about $32 billion worth of Tesla shares since November. The world’s richest person said less than four months ago he had no further stock sales planned and has attempted since then to terminate his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter. The social media company has sued to force Musk to go through with the deal, and a trial is scheduled for October.

Paul Sperry banned on Twitter too. Twitter is on the get woke, go broke, glide path to hell – and they refuse Elon’s life raft. ONLY QUESTION LEFT NOW IS WHAT LEVEL OF DANTE’S INFERNO WILL TWITTER’S LEADERSHIP LAND ON?
