Airline Etiquette

People who occasionally scan the London Daily Mail are familiar with summer stories in which drunken Englishmen and Englishwomen get into fights on the planes taking them back to dreary olde Blighty from their Spanish or Italian vacation, causing problems for the flight attendants.

But here is the standard of airline etiquette in a different part of the world.

China Eastern Airlines files police report after passenger verbally abuses and threatens flight attendant who knelt to apologize over meal cart bump: CATA - Global Times

"… China Eastern Airlines had secured evidence and filed a report to the police over an incident in which a China Eastern Airlines flight attendant knelt down to apologize to a passenger.

According to CATA, a meal cart accidentally bumped a passenger during cabin service on a China Eastern Airlines flight, prompting repeated apologies …"

I have a soft spot for Emirates, which seems to comb the world to find flight attendants who are as attractive & personable as they are competent & efficient. But I doubt if even one of those exemplars would “take the knee” to assuage an unruly passenger.
