An Earthen Vessel

After the euphoria of the past two days, which felt like the ecstatic relief you experience after a nightmare, I woke up this morning in a state of terror for Trump.
How can he possibly fulfill our expectations this time around? He’s like a great gleaming ship setting off freighted with so many of our individual assumptions. For example, I realized I personally will be very disappointed, disillusioned, if he doesn’t immediately pardon all the January 6 defendants. I think so many of us have a particular issue that’s been like a stone in our shoe for four years, myriad irritants, that each of us is assuming Trump will make it a priority to remedy.

Now this is where I hope to God ( interesting phrase; I think this is the first time I really “got” what it means…) that he really IS the unassailable narcissist as which his enemies, our enemies, have cast him. I don’t think any other type of personality can bear the weight. He’s now like the tortoise with the world on his back, let’s hope the carapace is unbreakable.

I share your hope that “Joe Biden’s” political prisoners will be released. At least that is one of the few things that President Trump will be able to do on his own authority – always assuming there is at least one honest peon in that sea of Swamp Far-Left bureaucrats who will prepare the pardons for his signature. But doing almost anything else will require the cooperation of Swamp Creatures who cannot be trusted … and Institutional Republicrats who can be relied upon to do the wrong thing.

Let’s remember the wise words of a now-forgotten Labour UK Prime Minister – “A week in politics is a long time”. Who knows what the situation will be like in January? Trump jailed by that tinpot judge in New York? California devastated in an earthquake? Zelensky assassinated? Boeing bankrupt … or bought by the Chinese? The only certain prediction is that the Far Left will never give up, and will do everything it can to thwart President Trump.

Scott Adams has an interesting take.

While a Trump victory in this election is of course critical what would really clean things up is exposure of 2020 election fraud that can stand up in court.

We know of course that the 2020 election was not auditable and that virtually all of the court cases involved refused evidentiary adjudication. Why? Two reasons. The courts really don’t like being put in a position to decide on the legitimacy of an election. But even more critical is that if you don’t have a system that can provide evidence then the court system is worthless because the burden of proof is the wrong place. There should be no burden of proof placed on the voters. The burden of proof should be on the government that it has not committed fraud.

Correcting the obvious defects in the voting system - beginning with voter ID and proof of citizenship - ought to be high in the list of things which must be done, and promptly. A PR campaign explaining that everyone who gets government benefits already has valid ID, along with clear and repeated explanations that there is only one reason to oppose these measures: the intent to commit FRAUD - and that its occurrence dilutes everyone’s legitimate votes. Again and again.
