Here’s my family’s collection from the Metropolitan Musum of Art:
Harris Brisbane Dick Fund exhibits online

The Metropolitan Museum of Art will receive $1,328,257 as residuary legatee under the will of Harris Brisbane Dick, owner of the book publishing business of Dick [&] Fitzgerald, at 18 Ann Street, according to the transfer tax report filed yesterday.
NYT, June 30, 1917, Page 8

Here are the portraits of Harris Brisbane Dick’s namesake grandparents, Margaret Brisbane and William Dick, my 6-g’grandparents (if I counted correctly) which, since I don’t have a place currently, I have left with my sister Morgan and her husband John Park (recently elected Mayor of Brookhaven, Georgia - congratulations, John!).

Some exhibits from the collection:

Field armor of Henry VIII

“Lute Player”, Valentin de Boulogne, French ca. 1625–26

“The Abduction of the Sabine Women” Nicolas Poussin,
French, probably 1633–34

Miniature broad collar, early Ptolemaic Period 332–246 B.C.

Here are some from my late mother, Helen Staats Harris’ collection:

(These are tiny watercolors, about 5" x 7", done for a Russian children’s book. Apologies for the date stamps, Mom took these for an insurance inventory.)

This looked so much better before she had it varnished, you could see the trace from every hair in the artist’s brush, it looked just like cold, dry snow. No varnish can match the refractive index of titanium white, so it goes all shiny.

Here is a collection of photos from Olympos, a village on the remote northern end of Karpathos, a Greek island between Crete and Rhodes. These were taken Easter 2003. My mother, Helen Staats Harris took the ones of people, I took the landscapes.
