Shocking! Mal-, Mis-, Dis- information. How the media loves to accuse everyone else. Did you read about Sen. Fetterman’s “flare up” of ventricular fibrillation causing a fall? Sounds routine, no. Well, in the past he had atrial fibrillation, for which he declined anticoagulants and had the predictable stroke. He has since relented, though I’ m unaware of his regimen.
Now ventricular fibrillation is very different from atrial fibrillation. I haven’ time to explain - that’s what AI is for. All I will say is that they are VERY different, with ventricular fib being an immediate threat to life and usually requires implantation of an AICD pacemaker. From a medical standpoint, if our learned, hectoring betters in the media can’t get that right, nothing they say can ever be trustworthy. Anyone surprised?

As an aside, is it possible that Fetterman did have a ventricular fibrillation episode even though he previously suffered from AFib?

Sure it’s possible, but every “independent” medium reported the same talking points. “Recurrent” or “another episode “ and “ventricular “. Unless a known extra-cardiac cause is discovered (a severe electrolyte imbalance, say), v. fib requires implantation of an automatic internal cardiac defibrillator (AICD) in most every case.

He has had both! He has cardiomyopathy and an AICD pacemaker. He is likely looking at a transplant at some point.
Addendum: I don’t recall either the V. Fib. Or the AICD were revealed during the election. Wonder why.

I lack the savvy or time to look back at what was reported for certain during the election, but as I recall, there was never mention of v fib. That surely would have caught my attention as the life expectancy of those who have it, especially due to cardiomyopathy, is significantly limited. That could well have cost him the election. It would be completely consonant with the “massaged” news to which we are treated daily. Democrat negatives, li v fib are hidden, Republican positives are either mis-portrayed of simply omitted. Sophistication of “fake” news nowadays is far beyond Goebbels’ meager abilities. The demons have made it into an art form, even while employing their signature projection - i.e. accusing others of doing exactly what they are actually doing and calling it “conspiracy theories”. Since they own the so-called “media ‘ they get to have it both ways.
