Be Careful What You Wish For

A thought-provoking article, worth reading. Is the EU Political Class ready to reap the whirlwind? Or is this the reason that the “leaders” of the EU have been desperately trying to undermine President Trump’s efforts to end the fighting in the Ukraine?

Peace won’t save Ukraine: What comes after the war may be worse — RT Russia & Former Soviet Union

… Even if the guns fall silent tomorrow, the war for Ukraine will be far from over. The most immediate battles will simply shift from the trenches to the home front, with an entire traumatized generation and streets flooded with weapons and rising organized crime that arguably has already been ruling the country for the past several years. …

While the West keeps talking about the cost of rebuilding Ukraine, ultimately its greatest long-term challenge will likely be the reconstruction of its society, as well as addressing the issue of a coherent national identity that, as described by French historian Emmanuel Todd, has for years been defined by nothing other than opposing everything Russian. …

Ukraine was known as one of the most corrupt governments in the world. IF peace breaks out, an international Board of Peace á la Gaza should definitely be appointed to establish a government.

Oh, but what about Ukraine’s “sovereignty”?

The nations which have been pouring money into it for the last couple years have paid enough to buy the place many times over. IMHO you can’t claim much “sovereignty” if you hafta go around the world begging the minute you get attacked.

It is very, very sad. I was in Ukraine in 2018, we took the same route Catherine the Great took, down the Dneiper River from Kiev to the Black Sea. Every little town we visited—Kherson, Dneipropetrovsk, the Zaporozhno region— was shown on the news, leveled. My impression in 2018 was that the country had a young population, young and fair! And I saw lotsa baby carriages, but maybe that was just so noticeable because we don’t see many at home. The cities, even Kiev, were a bit dilapidated. We saw an opera in Kiev, many beautiful young women, chattering excitedly, all dressed up—how they negotiated the step toilets in the opera house in those spike heels I will never comprehend.
I wrote then in my journal that Ukraine is young, it’s like a soldier staggering home from the front, wounded but singing in his joy to still be living.
I’d like to still think so, but from what I’m reading, most of those young families fled the country if they could, quite understandably. They’re wearing out their initial enthusiastic welcome in Poland. Will they return? It’s hard to imagine so, if they can’t even find an apartment.

It’s pretty clear to me That Unspeakable Thing In DC simply wanted to kill the young men.

Let’s have some equal time. While it is quite clear that our unrepresentative totally-worthless US Congress is all in favor of dead Ukrainians, they have unlimited support from the EuroScum who refuse even to talk with Russia and have focused on trying to derail President Trump’s valiant efforts to bring the fighting to a stop.

The part about the situation which that article emphasized is that stopping the war at the front line will not be the end of the violence and trouble for Rump Ukraine and the Euros. It is worth remembering that Germans expelled from what became Poland at the end of WWII were in refugee camps for about a decade – and that jolly old victorious England still had wartime rationing for about 10 years after the official end of the war.

Of course you’re correct and I did include the young Russian men in the target of the slaughter.

The way I read this is rather the opposite of the way Curt Doolittle does when takes the position that war is good because it kills off the least valuable young men.

In reality, it is more likely that war serves to increase the fertile female to male ratio in service of the men who instigate the war which does two things to the gene pool:

  1. It benefits rentier genes – leaving us more vulnerable to the centralization collapse of civilization after civilization under their unbearable load.
  2. It purges the sort of altruism from the genepool that WD Hamilton referred to in “Innate Social Aptitudes of Man” that is required to make capitalism work.
