Let’s review.

Since I turned 18, federal spending (already on a fast clip) went from 850 billion to 8 trillion. Let’s just call it a ten fold increase because the 8 trillion (actually 7.9 trillion) is a projection and the projections have always been low. Ten fold.

We need a lot of money to fight the Cold War. The Cold War ended, but the spending increases continued. There will be no “peace dividend” for you.

We need a lot of money to fight terrorism. The Iraq and Afghanistan wars end, but there will be no “peace dividend” for you.

We need a lot of money to stop the financial melt down. The financial crisis passed, but the spending never slowed. Hey now. Those companies will be paying it back. We got the money back, right?

We need a “huuuuge” increase in spending to address COVID. COVID has passed, but the spending never slowed.

We need a further increase to “build back better”.

We need another significant increase to pass all Trumps ideas. These ideas total about 50 billion, but we need to increase spending in the trillions.

Bread crumbs that fire up the base to shout “pass the bill”.

If big spending makes America great, we should be ten times greater than we were in 1984.

Thank god I am not a naturalized citizen or the powers that be would have DOGE investigate me.

Where were our “Representatives” in Congress while this spending increased year by year, every year authorizing more spending than they got in tax revenues?

Let’s identify the root of the problem – the abject failure of Western-style universal suffrage “democracy”.

Now we and future generations are going to have to live with the consequences of that failure.
