This guy is either a troublemaker or a defender of what is right.

In a nutshell; Smarthome offered devices that could be programed to do things like a smart thermostat, but after bankruptcy the new company demands money for continued operation as a “subscription fee”. Many of these devices are installed by professionals and not consumer installable.
