Chicken Boiled in Butter

This recipe, from an English cookbook dating from 1788, is called “Fowl or Chicken the Dutch Way”. The bird is cooked submerged in (clarified) butter.

Great little video; but for me the “buried lede” in this story is that you must consume FAT to be healthy!!

Mark Hyman (prolific author assoc. with Cleveland Clinic) has repeatedly shown this. My personal motto is: “if it wasn’t food in the year 1900, it’s not food”
