The system had been up for 16 days.
There were no update packages available for installation according
to "yum update", so I dispensed with a reboot.
On the Discourse Upgrade manager page:

I upgraded:
docker_manager (This upgrade must be run first:
the other upgrade buttons are
disabled until it has been updated.)
Upgraded:
discourse-math (MathJax)
discourse-spoiler-alert
discourse
There was no need to rebuild the Discourse image after this update.
The Admin page now reports we're running on 2.9.0.beta6.
Verified that spoilers and MathJax are working after being updated.
