Dr. Fauci’s Diary

I’m glad he kept one! Never mind the  and :cherry_blossom::tulip: about his secret passion (for himself.) The fact is, Covid and our government’s response was SO traumatic we’ve all kinda turned way from it. It can’t really have happened!—so it didn’t. Everybody was and is kinda embarrassed, ashamed.

The extremely candid admissions da Fouch made therein on a day-to-day basis ( like, that he always knew the “wet market” wasn’t the source) will be invaluable when historians get around to trying to figger out WTF happened to us all. Thank goodness he did put it on a government server, instead of just keeping it on paper, maybe one of those little notebooks with a teensy lock ‘n’ key, which he coulda destroyed by burning it in an ashtray in his bedroom when the “crisis” became unsustainable. (See, I can’t resist making fun of it either, even when I’m trying to make the opposite point ).

His hoar head IS going to go down to the grave in peace, it seems. But at least he created n indelible record of the now-incomprehensible mania of those dark days.

This reminds me of Nixon’s rock-steady faith in “executive privilege” during Watergate. How could he go on TV and assure us he knew nothing about the “cover-up” ( blast from the past!) when he ALSO knew he hd taped himself discussing it extensively with his aides? Or Clinton “ I did not have sex with that woman”. …when people attain a certain level,of power, they seem to also develop a belief that no one with knowledge of the facts will ever dare betray them!

No, Dr. F’s “Journal of the Plague Year(s)” is an invaluable historical document. Let’s just hope it WILL be preserved. Because anything electronically stored is supremely vulnerable.

Doctor Who? Oh! Not that travesty of homosexuality on BBC. Doctor Fauci – the “public servant” who somehow or other got paid more than the President, and whose generous pension we are still paying. Unfortunately, as far as the media are concerned, the good Doctor is very rapidly disappearing from the radar. It will have to be historians (probably Chinese historians) who remember his name.

I suspect those historians will see Dr. Fauci as a symptom rather than as a cause. He exemplified a system which had replaced scientific understanding with blind neo-religious acceptance of what designated “experts” said. There are probably a good few future PhD theses hiding in the mystery of how anyone became a designated “expert”. Algore on dubious Anthropogenic Global Warming, for example.

That same failed system had already marched the West, and particularly the US, down the road of de-industrialization and dependence on Chinese imports long before Covid came along. There is still the hypothesis that Covid (which certainly started in China, whether accidental or deliberate) was an effort to gain data on just how vulnerable Western economies would be to interruptions in the imports they so desperately need. Under that hypothesis, Dr. Fauci was no more than a highly-paid manipulated useful idiot – a role which he seems to have willingly played.
