Fifteen Second Takeoff Roll in an Empty Airbus A220-100

This video was recorded on a ferry flight of a new SWISS Airbus 220-100 from Florence, Italy to Zürich, Switzerland. There were no passengers or crew cabin staff on board—only pilots. Without all that weight, takeoff performance is…impressive.

The Airbus 220 was designed by Bombardier in Canada as the CSeries with this, the smallest model, designated the CS100. Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) operates a fleet of 30 A220s, of which 9 are the A220-100 model.

Liftoff before the displaced threshold.

Granted, that particular displaced threshold is nearly halfway down the length of the runway, but it’s still a head-turning visual.
