Fireball Meteor over Sakurajima Volcano, Kyushu, Japan

Sakurajima is the most active volcano in Japan. It was formerly an island, but was connected to the mainland by the lava flow from an eruption in 1914.

Note the persistent trail left by the fireball.

A similar flow to the west could isolate the northern end of Kagoshima Bay.

Note the second meter flying in the opposite direction. Is that odd?

I think that’s just an internal reflection in the lens due to the brightness of the meteor and the lens being at maximum aperture. It tracks the motion of the meteor at the left precisely, except being in the opposite direction.
