Impression from the Super Bowl LIX

The halftime show just (mercifully) ended. It was hyperactive and completely incomprehensible to me. I can’t tell what most of the ads are hawking. The lefty moralizing is banal; the end zone admonition is “choose love”. My single impression is that I am no longer part of this culture. Signing off. Not even trying anymore.

The halftime was definitely not intended for me, I even muted the TV and it was still bad. Done

“Entertainment”, generally, has left me behind. I spend as much time looking through offerings as I do watching - then staring it off half the time after 10 minutes of awfulness. I can’t help but believe the strategy of all the streaming companies is to divide up the desirable offerings in such a way as to force us to subscribe to as many services as we can (not really) afford and then continually increasing the rates and adding more commercials. Remember the selling point of cable - at first? Just pay up front and see no commercials? That didn’t last long.

It used to be the nauseating “end racism”
