Intel Building Two Semiconductor Fabrication Plants in Germany for € 17 Billion

This is part of Intel’s plan to invest as much as € 80 billion in Europe over the next decade, with additional facilities planned for Italy, France, Poland, and Spain. Intel is following the semiconductor industry’s trend of diversifying manufacturing, of which around 80% is presently in Asia, through expansions in North America and Europe, Hoovering up some of that sweet subsidy money voted by U.S. and European Union legislatures from the taxes they collect from cab drivers and hairdressers within their territories and “money” they summon from thin air through the miracle of central banking.
