Their population has exploded to over 90 million. Meanwhile, they dedicate their small fraction of really smart people to making nuclear weapons.

They can perhaps steal a small amount of water from Iraq, but Turkey has something to say about what enters Iraq.

Perhaps a part of the Armenia-Azerbaijan deal is to protect the Aras against Iranian takeover.
