Is China Losing the Plot?

In the Land of the Free, the Home of the Brave, a woman could (hypothetically) weaponize the IRS, take the 5th, and retire on full pension. Or (equally hypothetically) a woman could illegally keep secret government information on a server in her bathroom and never even be charged with a crime. Or (I know you won’t believe this hypothetical) an unintelligent but good looking woman could climb almost to the top of the greasy pole on her back.

Meanwhile in China, a political woman who goes off the track faces punishment. See the fate of the “beautiful governor”.

China official infamous for keeping 58 staff members as lovers, amassing illegal funds, jailed | South China Morning Post (scmp.com)

"A notorious female official from southwest China has been sentenced to 13 years in prison and fined one million yuan (US$140,000) for misconduct, including having sexual relations with 58 subordinates and accepting nearly 60 million yuan in bribes. …

Renowned for her striking looks, she was often referred to as “the beautiful governor” during her tenure. Zhong never married and had no children."

China used to be rumored to allow convicted Party members like her to make a voluntary donation of both kidneys. But here we see a woman who took in 60 Million in bribes being fined a mere 1 Million. Is China going soft just because she is a woman? Will feminism do to China what it has already done to the US?
