January 6th, 2021: A Date Which Will Live In Infamy

You mean, he didn’t take over?

And he is wearing animal fur!

Our democratic institutions are so fragile.

We averted fascism but thank god Bolshevism and veganism are still alive.

I admire those people, they went right to the seat of power in broad daylight (contrast burning and looting your neighbors’ homes and businesses under cover of darkness à la BLM.) .

I have heard and I hope it’s true! that Trump is going to pardon all these political prisoners on Day One. I’m going to be very disappointed if he doesn’t.

“insurrection”? Don’t make me laugh! Some insurrection, where nobody was armed and it was timed to take place between lunch and dinner.

Pardoning those political prisoners is one thing that the President has the authority to do without reference to the rest of the corrupt DC Swamp. Let’s hope he does it – but also let’s keep our expectations under control. The President is only one man, and he will be trying to do the right thing while trying to overcome all the obstacles the worthless Congress and the thousands of DC bureaucrats throw in his path.

I will be very disappointed if President Trump does not pull the US out of the proxy war in the Ukraine unless Zelensky immediately declares a ceasefire and enters into negotiations with Russia. But there are many different issues on which many other people will be disappointed unless they see quick action. We should all be prepared to be disappointed!

I’d like to agree with you but these people failed to read the room and it ended in tears for them. The two-tiered justice system was already on plain view. It ended up being bad optics for the Right, at least temporarily, and gave the kooks a propaganda win. I’m certain a good fraction, perhaps more than half, of the country still believe the leftist narrative.

Dissidents need to be smarter than this if they want to live to fight another day.

It’s interesting how much detail there is about this mole and how little about the supposed illegal craziness of these organizations:

Yes you’re right @Gavin, it scares me thinking of the great freight of various expectations Trump is under as he sets sail this time. How can he possibly please us all? We’re so hopeful, as only people who nearly gave up on hope can be! My only consolation is: if ANYONE can do it, HE can

I was going to have an inauguration party, but Monday night isn’t a very good time for a fĂȘte, so I’m thinking I’ll have a Burns dinner on the night, which is Jan 25, and work in a celebration of Trump’s Scottish heritage.
Joseph Charles McKenzie, of the Society of Scottish American poets, wrote a poem for the 2017 inauguration. Read it, you’ll .ove it, here’s just a taste:

“Academe now lies dead, the old order rots
No longer policing our words annd our thoughts.
Its ignorant hirelings, pretending to teach
Are backward in vision, sophomoric in speech.
Now we learnĂšd of mind add ourselves to the crowd
That cheers on the Domhnall, the best of McLeod!

But for all of his wisdom the gallant braw man
Is matched by his children, the handsome Trump clan!
While the flower of Europe, Melania the Fair
Adds luster and grace with her long flowing hair.
May they flourish and prosper and form a great crowd
Around the good Domhnall, the best of McLeod! “

McKenzie also wrote a poem in Nov 2020 for Trump’s second inauguration, more solemn and lyrical, I can’t type in any of that right now, but it’ll do nicely for 1/20/25!

I think what these people did was pretty mild. They didn’t even bring bricks or frozen water bottles to throw! Certainly they did NOT go there to fight! After what we had seen , night after night in summer 2020, I don’t think they had any reason to expect that attending a speech by our then-sitting president was dangerous or even audacious.
As for Chanley, the hornùd helmet guy, I saw a videotape of him inside, with security people courteously directing him where he asked to go. He didn’t destroy anything. Personally I  his costume! He isnt even wearing a mask, just face paint! Surely THAT isnt illegal or Pelosi woulda been in jail years ago.

Oh yeah no question the Left was hoping for some violence at least toward property ( which they supplied with their on agents, taking no chances,) And just a few days ago Garland repeated the lie that 6 police officers were killed on that awful day —although of course the truth is one died of an aneurism and the others committed suicide, all days later.
If these people HAD pauses to ask themselves, “how is it going to look if we attend a speech by Trump? And how is it going to look if we protest outside the Capitol building ( like many , including members of Congress, did outside the Supreme Court? —I don’t think they would have thought it would create a bad impression. It is, after all, a Constitutional right.
People are STILL being tracked down and arrested! I wanted to go; thank God the County Republican Committee bus was full and my BMD wasn’t willing, so I didn’t want to go by myself. If I had I woulda been lying awake every night listening for the FBI breaking in our door.

I about split a gut when I looked at the bottom of the page and, after all the blather about some guy going after people who were hiding their legal activity from a government they feared:

There were more enough scenes of breaking glass and people forcing their way into the Capitol to make it look bad. Propaganda is not about accurately reporting what happened. Even poor Ashli Babbitt, who posed no significant threat, was successfully vilified. She was the only real victim of the Electoral Justice Protest.

The point is that there was already plenty of evidence that prosecutorial decisions were politically motivated: Michael Brown case, Trayvon Martin, Georgia ‘jogger’ (Ahmaud Arbery), George Floyd, BLM riots. In this and many other cases, the diversity was handled with kid gloves and the non-diverse were prosecuted to the max. Every one of these cases preceded 1/6/21. This is what I mean by “reading the room.” This is a post-rule-of-law society, which was already evident well before the protest.

And what did hey hope to accomplish: to get that cuck Mike Pence to refuse to certify the election? Please. This is the frustration I have with CivNats.

On another thread, I already pointed out the problem with using ProPublica as a source. The likelihood that there is a word of truth in those stories is vanishingly small.

The warning about violence and racial slurs is the topper, though. I don’t know if I can handle the trauma.
