About a year ago, I learned about the lack of security (and outright malware) in the various IOT devices in my home; there are more than I realized. I became a quick student of home networking and bought a Synology high-end router, which enabled me to segment my network and isolate them from each other. This way, if one or more of my IOT devices (or cameras on their own network) ‘phones home’ to China or elsewhere. it will have zero access to my secure network on which my important devices live. I can only imagine the degree to which this country has been penetrated - and that’s not to mention the world’s most aggressive snoops, the US government.
