Korean Air Flight KE631 Airbus 330 Runway Overrun at Cebu International in the Philippines

There were no fatalities or injuries in the accident, but the airplane was damaged beyond repair and will be written off. This is the 17th hull loss of an Korean Air plane since 1970. Given the variabilities of weather conditions and the sheer number of takeoffs/landings, the fact that overruns are so rare is very impressive, indeed - similarly for commercial aviation mishaps, generally.
