Litigious Vetocracy

If any Scanalystas have so far been unaware of Dan Wang, this is the time to take notice.

Mr. Wang is best known for the series of annual letters he has published on the internet over years. He is an interesting writer on a range of topics – often China, and also his on passions for food, music, and travel. This year, instead of writing a letter, he has written a book.

Dan Wang | The secure transport of light

Mr. Wang has come up with a delicious (and unfortunately accurate) term to describe the fallen US – a “litigious vetocracy”.

As it happens, we have a great example of the predominance of what the Navajo call “Fast Talkers” over the people who can actually build things (as the US used to do) in the reaction of the squad in California to the Trump Administration pulling funds from California’s high speed rail boondoggle, which has spent $Billions while failing to complete a single mile of track over the same decades in which China completed something like 30,000 miles – the Californian “leadership” sued!
