Before the Surveyor spacecraft landed on the Moon, nothing was known about the properties of its surface. Some very odd ideas were explored about how one might move around there.

I’ve watched Amy for years, as she has a fresh, non-expert, approach to topics.

Arthur Clarke’s novel "A Fall of Moondust* posited one of the seas of the Moon being filled with fine dust that behaved like water.
It came out in 1961 and I read it when I was in Fourth Grade or so, checking it out of the adult section of the Ann Arbor Public Library. It was one of the first SF novels I read.
