Captured by an unattended closed-circuit television camera on 2022-12-04, here is pyroclastic flow from Mount Semeru in Indonesia. This is not a time-lapse, but real-time video. The flow is approaching the camera at an estimated 50 metres/second, or 180 km/hour. The eruption was provoked when monsoon rains collapsed a lava dome on the volcano.
Video from Indonesia’s Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
