Looks like the launch will be followed by several months of breath-holding to see if everything works.

The animation of the deployment is — disturbing! There are so many pieces that have to fold out in just the right way. And because of weight, it is tough to build too much redundancy into a satellite that has to be lifted all the way to a Lagrange point.

Indeed. The full deployment sequence will take 29 days (if nothing goes wrong). There are 300 single-point failure items in the process. We have had two earlier posts here about the deployment process:
