Operation Teapot consisted of fourteen atmospheric nuclear test explosions conducted at the Nevada Test Site in 1955. The tests ranged in yield from 1 to 43 kilotons, and were a combination of weapons development and weapons effects tests. The films you frequently see of a nuclear blast hitting residential buildings populated by mannequins were made during the “Apple-2” shot of this test series on 1955-05-05.
