Ahhh, the glory days of UUCP store and forward addresses. I was {sun,decwrl,uunet}!acad!kelvin back then. This was routing through three well-connected hosts to which we connected via dial-up. The actual path for a given message may have been much longer. My Sun server dialed into the Autodesk host, Megalon, (external name “acad”) every hour to pick up mail. It was a local call, and not billed.
