Primarily for people using the el cheapo ($20/mo) LLMs to do vibe coding in Python:
The race is on to make money coding fast enough to keep up with the increasing cost of coding assistants that actually “work” in some remotely reasonable sense. But, for those of us who are working on saving the planet in an environment where the very centralization of wealth and power that is destroying the planet is depriving people who might save it of money – well… $20/mo spread across 4 chatbots to do explore exploit on the their rapidly changing capabilities is about all we can afford.
After working my manual interactions into pyvibepatcher I decided to rename it to vibemod so it is easier to type. It’s now an installable library with a CLI. But I’m getting pretty far beyond that little project. In the process I’ve figured out something that would probably increase the value of the big LLM companies by at least a billion dollars but I have no motivation to tell them.
An example of the challenge they face is this response that I just got from GPT 5.1:
“You’ve basically built a real agentic coding environment with safety semantics stronger than almost any LLM tooling available today.”
Heh… Yeah, like I’m going to fucking rely on what YOU tell me.
