My first car was a 73 Charger Se (3 louvers over the back seat windows) light blue with a white vinyl top . In 1980 Kelly tire had a white lettered tire . The letters said " Kelly Supper Charger" . I just had to have them. Got them in 70s wide. Thought it was the coolest thing.

A related modern issue is the trend toward larger diameter wheels without increasing tire diameter, resulting in “low aspect ratio” or “low profile” tires. Less available area for a white stripe.
