Here is more information on the RT-23 Molodets rail-mobile ICBM system. The system was in service from 1987 through 2005, when it was dismantled pursuant to the START treaty,

The U.S. was also developing a rail-mobile basing mode for the Peacekeeper ICBM, the “Peacekeeper Rail Garrison”, intended to deploy 50 missiles. The system was cancelled in 1991 with the end of the Cold War.
