Rembrandt’s The Night Watch is on display at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. The painting is 3.63 metres by 4.37 metres, and was scanned at a resolution of 5 micrometres per pixel (by comparison a human red blood cell is around 8 micrometres in diameter), which shows individual particles of paint.
