Soyuz MS-19 to Launch Film Crew to International Space Station

Launch is scheduled for 08:55 UTC on 2021-10-05. On board will be Anton Shkaplero, commander and flight engineer, film director Klim Shipenko, and actress Yulia Peresild. The 12 day mission is to film footage for the dramatic series “The Challenge”, the first four episodes of which may be viewed at 1tv.ru.

Looks like they beat Tom Cruise:

As described in the main post, Soyuz MS-19 is on its way to the International Space Station. I have cued the video to start one minute before launch: scroll backward if you wish to see the more than three hours of preliminary material.

Here is Scott Manley with more details about the mission and another forthcoming cross-over episode of fictional and real space flight, plus the last Khan of Kazakhstan.

After a quick rendezvous, Soyuz TM-19 is currently approaching the International Space Station for docking.

Another “all-civilian” crew launched to orbit!

One more note on the crew: Shkaplerov is a Col. in the
Russian VVS (Air Force) Reserve (retired from the active VVS in 2012),
but is not an active duty military officer. So, it's another
all-civilian crew.
