Status Report: Rule of, and Equality Under the Law in These (dis-)United States

Here comes the judge! Lady Justice may be blind, but her clerks aren’t deaf. Here’s a link to the story. The bare facts: A US District Court judge in Atlanta was caught having extramarital sex with a uniformed police officer in her chambers during work hours. She initially denied the allegations to the investigating judge of the 11th circuit and suggested one of her clerks was disgruntled because of her reprimands.

The charges were all proven true after an extensive investigation and she “withdrew” her initial angry denial of each and every allegation. It also came out that she had abused her clerks, never supervised, discussed or edited any of the written opinions written by the most inexperienced of those clerks, and - though strictly ethically forbidden - attended a public political event for (drum role) district attorney Fani Willis!

She’s been removed from the bench and disbarred, right? WRONG. She was given a “private reprimand” and continues to sit as “your honor” on the federal bench - in judgment of ordinary citizens.. Had she been a white male - disbarment, defrocking and likely a prison sentence would have been summarily concluded. Equal justice under the law? Not likely with the likes of this sorry excuse of a “jurist”.

It has long been said that the law is “an ass”. In the UK, promiscuously used is a different (four letter, single syllable, Anglo-Saxon) anterior anatomical epithet (lest it taint the discussion), which - though far less heard in the US - just might be more “fitting” in this particular set of hetero-sexual facts (In case the allusion is too oblique, the term rhymes with ‘grunt’ - one of the many sounds witnesses described as emanating from the unnamed judge’s chambers). Contempt of court, anyone? Here on display is the full thrust of (not trust in) The Law. Just who is getting screwed could not be more clear.

I saw that and…I don’t know what to say. Back when I was i law school, it woulda been enough to disbar this judge if she had lied to a tribunal under oath. Until Kevin Kleinsmith, I thought that was the worst thing we attorneys could possibly do.

Hey but look, @civilwestman , as a member of both the medical and legal professions you can see the force of this:

The professions must be destroyed because they have their own loyalties, their own code of ethics, In the Marxist utopia that cannot be tolerated.

Everybody knows about the “Doctors’ Plot” when almost all the physicians in the USSR were killed.

But NOBODY knows there was a purge of the lawyers, too.

It’s all of a piece! We mustn’t "judge " anybody. Not even this nymphomaniac “judge”.

Nonpartisan? Or do they list derogatory facts about Republican appointees only?
