Only property owners should vote.

It seems logical to give voting rights to those who served in the military. The problem is the military has gone woke and I am not sure that is the best criteria. I vacillate on the military and veterans

This idea has been nicely developed in popular media, for example in Starship Troopers:

Well, you can count me out then…I’d rather be a man without a country.

NOTE: I removed the link to a video showing the forceful cell extraction of an airman who refused the COVID-19 vaccine along wtih my commentary. I didn't understand the whole context (and quite frankly, I still don't), but I admit that I was "click-baited" and I jumped to an incorrect conclusion. The last thing I want to do is to libel the military personnel who appeared in the video. I'm not saying that what happened in the video was "okay", but it seems that it wasn't remotely as bad as I thought it was. My apologies.

I understand the black pill. If the US government thinks it can treat me like an enemy and then turn around and have me voluntarily support it, they have to be the stupidest people in history.

This doesn’t just apply to the government. One might say, my neighbors have such little brain capacity that they think they can force me to do something without consequence. They must live in some fantasy world called a metropolis where actions toward your neighbor have little or no immediate personal consequence.

I guess years of being able to take your neighbor’s property without consequence gives confidence, but not brain power. Maybe people forgot what a society requires and or don’t understand second order consequences. Thinking you can treat your neighbor as a milk cow allows you to get milk, but your neighbor is required for more than just milk. There are some things you cannot coerce.

Here is what ChatGPT says:

The phrase “the team quit on him” typically means that the members of a team have lost faith in, or stopped supporting, their leader or coach. It implies that the team’s performance or morale has declined as a result of this loss of support. In essence, it suggests that the team no longer believes in the ability or leadership of the person in charge, leading to a breakdown in cohesion and effectiveness.

For those of us that live in the real world and have to deal with real people and have been part of real communities, we all understand this without explanation. We have all seen the consequences of a “team quitting on him”. I always think of it like a mule team. The old mule team is pulling the cart and the guy on the cart is whipping the mule team and then all of a sudden there was one too many whips and the mules stop pulling the cart.

The definition of a tyrant is one that rules without constraint. The US government rules without constraint. It has unconstrained spending, unconstrained war and unconstrained law making. It runs unchecked.

The final check on the government was supposed to be voting. In order to vote, you need to be informed. In order to be informed you have to have free speech.

Mainstream media tries to insinuate that they are free speech, but they are not. As early, if not earlier, as the mid 1800s it was known that a politician had to pay the newspaper for support.

When the NRA gives its endorsement to a candidate, we all know that the NRA is a political organization and we all know what its goals are and why it would endorse a candidate. The media tries to hide its motivation. They are like the NRA except they are unethical and have a history of being bribed for political support and or controlled/used by the intelligence agencies.

It is hard to believe that people argue about whether the media is biased. It isn’t biased, it is an operation that is organized and synchronized towards a common purpose. People aren’t being informed, they are being led and manipulated. Just because they are smart enough to insure that there is political division between the people doesn’t mean they aren’t organized for a common purpose.

The thing to remember is that these are the pros. The difference between them and the normal citizen with regard to manipulation is similar to the difference between a normal citizen and some hall of fame pro athlete.

One of the advantages they have is that people don’t think they are manipulatable. They think others are manipulatable, but not them. I am too smart and logical to be manipulated. All this means is that you are more easily manipulatable because you are completely unaware of the danger.

You cannot have free and fair elections in a system where it is impossible to be informed. Most people will immediately react to this by thinking it is true because the other side is uninformed. They miss the point. Until you receive all media assuming it is bullshit unless you personally know the source, you have not got the point.

I previously saw the video you posted. I think it is probably true, but I force myself to ask how do I know that is true? I don’t. Is it really about vaccination or something else?

I try hard to take the same approach to things that confirm my bias as I do with the main stream media, but I don’t always succeed.

In the end, for me, it doesn’t matter if one video is true or not. I was witness to the mania. I saw how people treated their neighbors and long before COVID I was already asking myself why exactly would I commit to the US.

Why would I willingly sacrifice for some unknown person in Chicago or Tampa that doesn’t hold my values? A person likely to never be willing to sacrifice for me. A person that thinks it is a good idea to divide the country up into little groups and pit them against each other. A guy that doesn’t thank me for my contribution, but actually attacks my character and blames me for his problems.

For fun I changed up the CCR song Fortunate Son.

Some folks are born to burn our common flag
Ooh, they’re LGBTQ
And when it’s time to pull all together
They only wag their finger at you

It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t no fascist, son
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t who burnt it down

Some folks inherit beady little eyes
Ooh, they take their “fair” share, Lord
And when you ask em, “Shouldn’t we all give together?”
Ooh, they only answer, “No, no, no.”

Some folks are born with my helping hand
Lord, don’t they help themselves, no
But when the taxman come to my door
They only ask for more, more, more

It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t your unpaid whore
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t your free shit store

Some folks have taken everything they have
Why are they the victimized one, Lord
If you ask what have I done
They will only scream you down yea

It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t the bitching one
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t who burnt it down

It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t the platformed one
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t who burnt it down

Welp, limiting the franchise to landowners sounds like a step backward….but mebbe, limit it to those who pay taxes? Cuz I seem to recall that only 49% of Americans pay taxes at all. I reckon they’re talkin’ the income tax, though, since anybody who buys anything here pays sales tax in most states.

I support the income tax filter.

That eliminates a lot of nonsense.

What if you are retired? You would not have an income unless social security or a pension count as income?

I’ve also thought about jury duty requirement for voting. I know the jury pool is so much smaller than registered voters.

I support almost any restriction of the franchise. Too many people voting is hazardous for society

Thank you for your very thoughtful and insightful post. I’m greatly comforted to know that someone understands my thought process and where I’m coming from—I really, really appreciate it.

Exactly…I never abandoned America (and the West in general), it abandoned me.

I totally agree that one of the biggest problems we face to day is the suppression of ideas and the lack of genuine debate among people made in good faith. The COVID-19 debacle is a prime example. I wonder though, if free speech (in its most extreme form, let’s say) could be a double-edged sword. For example, should obscenity be tolerated? I think that pornography has had an extremely destructive influence on our society and has been used as a weapon to destroy the family and ultimately control people (i.e. they’re a slave to their passions). I’m reminded of the Ben Franklin quote:

Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.

I assume that when Ben refers to “masters” he’s talking about wise and benovalent dictators, not degenerate, corrupt and capricious tyrants.

Amen! It’s really sad to think that the institutions (e.g. three-letter agencies) that were supposed to protect us are actually trying to subvert and destroy us. I have to admit I don’t understand their motivation though…is it a power thing? Is there some aspect of human nature where one finds some kind of preverse pleasure in self-destruction? Is it just pure evil?

Oh man, you’re so right about this! One of the things I hate the most about what’s going on is the incessient manipulation of people. I think the left/right dichotomy is a prime example of this…it’s like a mind virus. We live in a world of shadows, misdirections, outright lies and half truths. I am reminded of a quote from Richard Feynman:

The first principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool.

I couldn’t agree more!

That is absolutely the correct approach when encountering any information. I do feel slightly embarassed by posting the video. When I took the time to get a little more background, something didn’t seem quite right and the clip was clearly designed to elicit a certain emotional response and cause the viewer to draw certain conclusions that may not have been correct. I’ll keep an open mind about the video, but as of right now, it doesn’t pass the smell test for me.

The other monkey wrench in the works is AI. It’s bad enough to have a real video cut and edited to give the wrong impression, but now it’s possible to create out of whole cloth extremely realistic and plausible video. It’s extremely unsettling to come to the realization that we can’t even trust our own eyes anymore.

Don’t I know it!

My sentiments exactly. For me, the social contract has been irrevokably broken and it’s time to move on…I’ll be the first to admit that that’s easier said than done (and as you can tell, I’m still bitter about it), but I know I have to do it for my own mental (and physical) well-being.

Hahahaha! Pure genius! And what a great song, BTW! Thanks for brightening my day!

Really depressing to see this meme yet again despite my years of effort to try to warn private sector rent seekers And the other property owners they dupe, that you’re all gonna get killed but only after you’ve done so much damage to the gene pool that it may be impossible to recover.

Rent seeking even in the private sector is dysgenic and is only marginally less so than public sector rent seeking.

Look I’m the guy who was developing an emulator for the 8086 before the first silicon was etched by intel so as to try to get the network effect lock in of an operating system. I can explain why I didn’t finish that yet again but the point is this:

I get it.

And I would not have considered it appropriate for my personal genes to be favored by the fact that I was able to lock in a network effect monopoly as did Gates. This is the story of the Cycle of civilization And we are entering a period of Is hellish decline Because of it.

You are going to have to pay for the destruction of total fertility rates and not just in the united states but in all of the developed world.

The Worst Resource Curse is the biggest network effect monopoly “property”:

The World Reserve Currency

PS: Apropos Scott Adams goes off on the supposedly eugenic effect of taking out of the gene pool people who are so depressed by the state of affairs that they resort to AI girlfriends while a few billionaires may make like Elon Musk (who I consider among the duped property owners since his wealth is not primarily (yet) network effect rent seeking) and reproduce like a Chinese Emperor:
