Take #Two: a poem for January 20, 2025

“Not mine own fears, nor the prophetic soul
Of the wide world, dreaming on things to come,
Can yet the lease of my true love control
Supposed as forfeit to a confined doom.
The mortal moon hath her eclipse endured,
And the sad augurs mock their own presage.
Incertainties now crown themselves assured,
And peace proclaims olives of endless age.
Now in the drops of this most balmy time,
My love looks fresh, and Death to me subscribes—
Since, spite of him, I’ll live in this poor rhyme
While he insults over dull and speechless tribes. And thou, in this, shalt find thy monument
When tyrants’ crests and tombs of brass are spent.”

Many people thought it would be The End when Elizabeth I died, she had ruled for a generation at least. Many English probably couldn’t remember when she hadn’t been on the throne. But Shakespeare was as much a Jacobean as an Elizabethan. The accession of James I, who was also King James VI of Scotland, seemed auspicious to him I reckon. Since the “mortal moon” (Harris) endured her eclipse, “incertainties” have INDEED “crowned themselves assured”! And now OUR love—of country, of Trump— does indeed look fresh! This is a day for the history books!
“ Now praised be God Who has matched us with His hour!” (Pace Brooke).

Barron is most prominent in the foreground of this video of Musk’s enthusiasm. No, I’m not talking about the contrasting emotional tone but clearly also in the picture quality.

And about that emotional tone of Barron’s:

Lots of people are reacting to the emotional tone and not just because of the foreground picture quality of him. The mind reading is all over the map.

But I have a young relative not far from Barron’s age with Asperger’s syndrome. There are subtle nuances that others will miss that remind me of him.

I’m not going to go on about my journey that started with seeing 5 families in a SV startup of 100 having a son diagnosed with autism in the mid 1990s – a journey that led me to become ruthless about inferring causality* from data.

But my main hypothesis was gut bacteria from India.

What happens if Trump discovers his son was a victim of H-1b and I don’t mean that he can’t get a job – but that he can’t have a family because his nervous system was organically damaged by all that skilled immigration? You think he’d admit it? Would RFK Jr. even admit it?

Would it take Musk losing another son for him to admit it even to himself?

The Chinese may not have trouble admitting it and also understanding how destabilizing it could be to the Trump Pirate Ship:

* Immigration from India into a State ecology was one of the top few ecological correlations with autism per capita. But I’ve gone into that elsewhere and am not here to defend that hypothesis. The point is that this is a wedge issue that could split the body politic asunder and the Chinese know it.

Trump fears the rise of China that seeks to absorb Taiwan, coerce our friends in the Pacific like Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, and steal our technology.

So, he further insists that in the future, the U.S. must master emerging technologies and services—such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, cyberwarfare, cryptocurrency, drones, emerging fuels like small nuclear plants, hydrogen, and mega-batteries, and deadly new weaponry from lasers to hypersonic missiles.

OH my GOD!!! I hadn’t heard this! How effing wonderful: under the Dems it looked like we really were on the way to a uniworld under the anti-American tyranny of the UN. This is the wonderful, the INCREDIBLE thing about Trump: he SEEs what every intelligent and right-minded citizen sees— and it looks so far like he’s gonna DO sump’n about it!

SCREW the WHO. We finally get a global pandemic (if you can call it that) and the WHOs main role seemed to be making sure we didn’t blame the country wherein it (OBVIOUSLY!) originated. Really, did the WHO help out at all, in any way, shape or form? No no, let the U.S. take care of itself, thanks.
