“Master Plan Part 3 is all about achieving very large scale. In order to shift the entire energy infrastructure and transport infrastructure of earth, there has to be a very high scale. We have to ask what is the actual tonnage?”
Well, if that recent Finnish geological report is anywhere near to correct, the answer will be that the Earth does not have enough key mineral resources to shift the entire infrastructure – not with currently known technology, anyway. The transportation side would need different battery technology, and the only way to generate enough electric power would be through vast numbers of breeder-type nuclear power stations.
Musk is a very smart man. He must already know this. So what is his real plan?
