The Crazy Years

While the footprint may have shrunken, there is undoubtedly a trail of its former steps - in the ubiquitous SF human excrement.

We definitely need a new category – because restarting nuclear power is NOT Crazy Years – it is the belated return of common sense, more than half a century after common sense was abandoned.

The next phase (which may take years) will be when the parties scrambling to build reliable 24/7 nuclear power plants find that (a) the big hold up and much of the expense lies in excessive regulation rather than in any physical issue, and (b) Western politicians will have to go cap-in-hand to China and Russia to replace their now-lost technologies for manufacturing essential components of nuclear power plants.

Did not believe above quote (was it sourced from a wsj “reporter”?) – but then came across this on adsk website …

Hey! That is sexist! Just because a bridge designed & built by an all-female team falls down, we should not draw any general conclusions about the competence of women. Other bridges have fallen down. Remember that other one … it was in Scotland, across the River Tay … as recently as 1879! Bet there were no women involved in that design & construction!

California electricity supply hits the wall.

Around 5% of California’s electricity supply comes from the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant, which they plan to shut down by 2025.

NO my conclusions were drawn well before 2018.

In the spirit of ESG, it is important to acknowledge diverse resources were employed and materials involved were returned to nature in an expedited manor, so as in Germany’s Demodernization Energy Projects, this project was a remarkable ESG-success!

Fungibility alert! Note the 0% coal. The smarmy leftists must be proud of that. But then note the 18.8% Imports @ 8.9gW. Because there is far more than 8.9gW of coal-sourced electricity out there, that’s 8.9 gW of coal production that would be unneeded if CA had not killed off the rest its nuclear generation.

According to the 2011 data cited by Wikipedia, the UK population is 87.1% white. If half are male (it’s probably a tad less due to difference in mean lifespan), then 43.55 would be white male. Evidently, this cabinet does not “look like Britain.”
