What is truly sad that the backdoor was NOT discovered in the normal change accepting/vetting process by Debian developers. It was found by one very diligent engineer randomly stumbling into a somewhat suspiciously high CPU utilization. Thanks god there are still people who can put aside their daily grind and take a look at something unusual.
