In early March a network of websites, dubbed CopyCop, began publishing stories in English and French on a range of contentious issues. They accused Israel of war crimes, amplified divisive political debates in America over slavery reparations and immigration and spread nonsensical stories about Polish mercenaries in Ukraine.

The country’s newest large language model has been learning from its leader’s political philosophy, known as “Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era”, as well as other official literature provided by the Cyberspace Administration of China.

We must “ensure that in thought, politics, and action, we are always in high alignment with the Party Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping at its core,” says another.

In the tweet she says articles were altered. Does that mean that they hacked into a site and altered the content or does it mean they rewrote the article and pawned it off as from the same author/organization or does it mean they rewrote the article and published it as their own?

Altered usually implies the original item was changed. In the context of an article the original is the published piece. Recently, on this site I changed the words to a famous song. Did I alter it? You could say that and be technically correct, but wording it that way implies the original is no longer the same.

The quote you added indicates it was rewritten and published on some site. That is about as threatening as my changing the words of Fortunate Son. But somehow it amplifies division about US political differences.

One problem I have with the so called efforts of Russia to mess with US politics is that we have daily examples of all the “news” and government agencies doing just that. Just yesterday my brother read a headline to me that said Exxon had excess profits. What are excess profits? That is just one example of thousands showing the media amplifying political differences around capitalism. That is more dangerous than “phonycrap dot com” publishing rewritten articles.

No, it’s an application of this concept:

Don’t underestimate the power of pumping out biased reporting that free-rides the reporting work by someone else.

Yet another reason to carry a “dumb” phone around instead of a device that contains the “keys” to your entire life. This is particularly relevant when crossing international borders and interacting with “law enforcement”.

From the article…

“I wondered,” the official added, “if this applicant had been [a] white male, or [an] Asian female for that matter, [whether] we would have had that much discussion.”

Hummm…a white male and an Asian female…the race/gender specificity is rather…odd, no? Is this the current order in the privilege hierarchy? I can’t wait to start seeing commercials with Asian male / black female couples just like how 99.9999% of couples in ads on TV consist of a white female and a black male.

Top exorcists bring statistics:

https://www.youtube.com/live/KQOSzZprIO4?t=348

We started keeping statistics, and what we started to notice is that in relationship to possession, where demons actually possess people, the number of possessions is statistically remaining the same. It’s 0.5% of the general population, so one out of every 200 people is likely possessed. Among those people that come to us, it’s about that same statistic.

Then, if you look at the number of people that have become diabolically obsessed, which I’m going to talk about, that statistic has drastically changed. Statistically, when you’re talking about diabolic obsession, the rates are drastically on the rise. When you talk to exorcists, what they’re finding out is that the average number of the adult population in this country that is diabolically obsessed is 25%. Diabolic oppression is also on the rise but for different causes. We figure that the average number of people that are being diabolically oppressed is somewhere between 10 and 15% of the population. This indicates that the diabolic influence is drastically increasing, and it’s increasing for various reasons. People are doing a lot of evil things. Every mortal sin is an open door to possession. Mortal sin by its nature takes the person out from under the authority structure of God and places them under the authority structure of Satan.

When I first started doing exorcisms—well, let’s back up—before 1963, the average time to liberate someone from full possession was one to two days, maybe a week on the outside. The case that started on the East Coast but ended up in St. Louis took 59 days, which was practically unheard of. After 1963, what used to take one to two days went to eight months to two years to liberate the average person. Now, it’s on average four years to liberate somebody. There are two reasons for that. One is because the world is much more evil, and the demons are a lot more powerful. The second component is that exorcisms work ex opere operantis Ecclesiae, which means how holy the people in the Catholic Church are determines how effective my prayers are when I walk into a session. This tells us that there’s a fundamental problem with the members of the Church; they are not as holy as their counterparts were in the past.

Subjugation is when the person enters into a pact with the devil, giving the demon something in exchange for something else. Technically, there is never a valid contract with a demon because they cannot guarantee the fulfillment of the contract. Subjugation is on the rise, especially in Hollywood and the music industry.

Temptation and Virtue: Every individual faces ordinary temptation. The virtue God wants you to perfect can often be identified by the temptations you face. In Heaven, there is a human nature and a human being that have the plenitude of all virtues—our Lord and our Lady. Everyone else has varying degrees of virtue because God likes variety.

Temptation helps us to grow in virtue and self-knowledge. Demons can introduce things into our imagination and move our emotions, which is why it’s essential not to follow emotions blindly in our spiritual life. Instead, we must follow reason illuminated by faith.

Extraordinary Forms of Spiritual Warfare:

  1. Temptation: Ordinary temptation that every person faces.
  2. Vexation: Physical attacks by demons, usually reserved for saints.
  3. Oppression: External attacks on finances, relationships, health, and job situations. It’s designed to draw us closer to God.
  4. Obsession: Severe psychological attacks that are almost impossible to fight off. It requires combat through prayer and discipline.
  5. Possession: Rare and involves the demon taking control of the person. It requires a lengthy and intensive exorcism process.
  6. Subjugation: A pact with the devil, leading to severe spiritual and sometimes physical consequences.
