The treatment of an allergic reaction is steroids. An epi-pen is merely a method to extend the time a bit for the steroid to take effect. It is “rescue medication”, not “treatment medication”. Use of an epi-pen should be followed immediately by a visit to your nearest ED.

Have people with peanut allergies always had problems flying? Has it risen to my awareness because of the inter-webs? Are those with allergies more sensitive to peanuts than historical or more willing to demand that everyone not eat peanuts to reduce their risk of reaction an insignificant amount?
How does the person in row 42 eating peanuts impact the person with allergies in row 10? Can’t they follow Fauci’s recommendation and wear two pieces of toilet paper over their mouth or are peanuts more difficult to filter than viruses?

In the West, the exipient / carrier for vaccines is often peanut oil. There is no standard for maximum permissible residual protein (allergen) in these oils. This can cause the immune system to become sensitized to peanut proteins. In other countries, particularly ones in the Arab world, the excipient is more likely to be sesame oil, so sesame allergies are more common there and peanut allergies are less common.
Or so I think I remember reading somewhere on the internet.
OTOH, I believe soybean oil is more common than either peanut or sesame as an excipient in vaccines, and I haven’t heard of soy allergies being as big a problem as the other two.

That diagram should be used as damning evidence that N95 masks don’t work on COVID virus. How exactly did the virus get to the various areas of the plane given the air filtration is better than N95 (better because filter media are equivalent but the mask relies on face fit and the HEPA doesn’t).

Fortunately for me, I know the inventors of the 3M N95 respirators. My brother started working as an engineer in the disposable mask business in the early 70s and is friends with the inventors of most of 3M’s line of masks and respirators.
One of the engineers that developed the processes to make the media used in most of the respirators died during COVID. I hunted with him every year for over 40 years. The inventors that are still alive attended the funeral and after the funeral they were gathered in a circle talking. None, wore a mask.
There is a reason that there is no claim about protection against viruses for the disposable respirators and it isn’t because it wouldn’t be valuable. Nor is it because these men didn’t know how to get approval for claims. They developed the test equipment and methods used to test respirators in order to prove to the government that disposable respirators worked for things like dust particulate and paint spray.
I am far more confident in the inventors knowledge than some random professor with grant money telling me how they work. These guys forgot more about the topic and have in place methods far better than electrostatic charge for improved filtration. When the researchers write up how to make a respirator filter better that even comes close to the technique used, let me know and I will congratulate them on being skilled in the art. Until then they are over 20 years behind the what is known in the industry by competent producers.
