In addition to the numerous violations of procedures and errors by the flight crew, one has to wonder about the wisdom of installing a box on an engine which can, by itself, feather the propeller on that engine and, further, designing that box so that a bad solder joint inside the unit is sufficient to trigger the autofeather without any additional confirmation of a problem or command by the flight crew.
